PRIVATE schools fear the government will punish them for raising their own funds and donations when it reviews Commonwealth funding for all schools.

If the government is going to reduce funding to schools that engage in … initiatives to raise monies, then this would be most unfortunate because it would create a welfare mentality this country can ill afford. Schools will no longer be motivated to raise monies if it is only going to lead to a decline in government funding. -- Tim Hawkes 0
