Five students from Disney Elementary School were taken to hospitals Friday afternoon after taking prescription pills that one of the children brought to school.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control is sponsoring a contest for students in kindergarten through 12th grade to raise awareness about the growing problem of prescription drug abuse and addiction. Students can enter essays, audio or video recordings, cheers, songs, poems and posters to spread the message: “Don’t share your prescription drugs!”
The deadline for entries is March 31. Cash prizes of as much as $300 will be offered in the categories of kindergarten through sixth grade and seventh through 12th grade.
