Senate OKs bill to teach Bible

The Oklahoma Senate on Thursday passed a measure that would allow elective courses on the Bible to be taught in public schools.

Districts could offer the courses to students in grades nine through 12 and would be required to maintain religious neutrality and accommodate diverse religious views, traditions and perspectives of students, according to the measure.
