the average score examinees got for History was 2.09/10. The information has been shocking everybody. Why don’t students want to learn history and why are they bad at history?

I agree that the history of the culture is the most important thing for students to learn. They need to understand how we became what we have become. That will include political and military history, but not exclusively. It is amazing to think about the enormity of the task of trying to decide which pieces of history are the most important ones for students to know.

I had a professor at university who taught history through fictional accounts of the time period being studied. For example, Lady Murasaki's "Tales of Genji" (circa 1000CE) is perhaps a more balanced account of the Heian Period in Japan than surviving court records. Official history is written by the victors while fiction can sometimes provide a coded narrative of events, mores and culture of the time. I wonder what our contemporary fiction will say about us?

yes,it's just that we couldn't exist here without the past and right the past is the history. We're making our own history but how? That's because of the people in the past and how they make the history for us to continue. So that's neccessary to think about getting more information from the history
