We are all striving for a greater good - to ensure every student is college-ready and that we do have that high expectation for all students. We can't fire our way to excellence. We do believe that the vast majority of our teachers are highly dedicated professionals. It is so difficult to teach in the urban setting, and we must constantly remind ourselves who the real hero is and that's the classroom teacher. They should be treated with the utmost respect and understand how they are being measured and get support, if necessary, in order to be effective. -- Keith Ballard
