Social media aids teachers, students

What’s already in use in classrooms are not the ubiquitous websites such as Facebook, Twitter and My Space, but educational sites and programs that most people outside of schools have never heard of. In fact, many schools block the popular social media sites and St. Cloud’s proposed policy requires the superintendent’s approval for use in the classroom. Among the names popping up in area classrooms instead are Moodle, Edmodo and Weebly.

Teachers using social media in the classroom find it is a great way to engage students, allowing them to interact and providing learning opportunities through something that has been shown to keep their interest — social media. 0
