Catoosa students get laptops for some high-tech learning

At least 320 middle school students are receiving MacBook laptop computers this week as part of a learning project. A total of 175 eighth-graders at Wells Middle School received their computers Tuesday as part of Catoosa's One to One Learning Initiative, Wells Principal Della Parrish said. She said 147 seventh-graders were given laptops Thursday.

Catoosa was among 19 state schools to receive a grant from a pool of more than 80 applicants. At Wells, sixth-graders will be given laptops for use at school only, but seventh- and eighth-graders will get to use their MacBooks at home, as well.
