Dave Lopez -- There are bills pending to advance programs that have long been recommended by businesses and others. The proposals would provide creative incentives, data-driven evaluation of schools and a laser focus on measuring achievement results. We urge the legislature to implement these features of the legislation.

Implementing these reforms will not guarantee Oklahoma can win federal funding. But these policies are critical to maximizing our investments in public education and to make sure our students are equipped to be productive citizens and employees in the 21st century. Other states are moving ahead and so in order to be competitive in economic development we must focus on a well-educated work force. -- Dave Lopez
