Oklahoman Editorial -- There are a couple of different ways to take U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan's speech last week to career and technical education officials. It was a warning shot, a challenge or perhaps a bit of both. Either way, Duncan is right in suggesting vocational programs must prove their worth.

Phil Berkenbile, Oklahoman -- U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan commented recently about a Harvard Graduate School of Education report, “Pathways to Prosperity,” which envisions a new system of career and technical education (CTE, called CareerTech in Oklahoma) that is a radical departure from the vocational education system of the past.
