Oklahoman Editorial -- Early childhood programs are a solid investment in helping children get off to a better academic start. While Oklahoma is a national leader in this area, the high number of ill-prepared children in the early elementary grades — who often go on to be ill-prepared in middle and high schools — is proof that much work remains.
